Making Waves: Kate Boersma
Making Waves is the podcast of the Society for Freshwater Science
Episode 9: Resistance or Vulnerability in Stream Invertebrate Communities to Drought?
This podcast features Dr. Kate Boersma discussing a recent study evaluating how stream invertebrate communities respond to severe drying and habitat changes in arid ecosystems.
Kate Boersma is currently a Post-doctoral researcher at the University of San Diego. Her research seeks to understand the effects of biotic and abiotic disturbance regimes on aquatic community structure. Most of her research focuses on arid ecosystems where climate change is likely to have significant impact on the habitat structure. She earned her PhD from Oregon State University in 2013.
