Making Waves: Amy Rosemond

Making Waves is the podcast of the Society for Freshwater Science

Episode 15: Carbon in Detrital Food Webs

Amy Rosemond

This month's podcast features Dr. Amy Rosemond discussing her lab's research on the effects of nutrient pollution on carbon sequestration in detrital food webs.

Amy is an Associate Professor at the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia, where she leads an active research lab primarily focusing on understanding how nutrients affect the functioning of streams and rivers. In this podcast she discusses results of a set of experiments she led in which several streams were fertilized with nitrogen and phosphorus over the course of several years, and why we should care about how these inputs affect the detrital food web of streams.
