Episode 14: Nitrogen Fixation in a Warming World
This month's podcast features Dr. Jill Welter discussing how primary production may be sensitive to warming temperatures through changes in nitrogen fixation. This work was featured the March edition of Ecology.
Jill is a professor at St. Catherine University where she focuses on links between landscape structure, species assemblages, and biogeochemical cycling. She uses a mix of field-based experimental manipulations, coupled with landscape-scale surveys, and development of quantitative models. Jill's overall aim is to connect species assemblages with ecosystem processes to better understand how ecosystems will respond to environmental change.
